Executive Director’s Update
We have had an exciting Fall at RAM House. Our first annual fund-raiser was an outstanding success and it was not only a fund-raiser but it was a “friends-raiser”. When our Development Committee was tasked to do a volunteer event, they wanted to have an event that thanked everyone from the hard working program volunteers, to the Board of Directors, to the ever so important donor.
For me, the last four year have been challenging but ever so rewarding. We managed to re-brand, to create a dynamic fund development committee and to improve our programming. We did so by carefully implementing a strategic plan. And this all occurred despite COVID. Oh how far we have come.
Recently, I was walking through the shelter and one of our guests thanked me. He called me boss. If you know me, I am very reluctant to consider myself anybody’s “boss.” The very word makes me a little uncomfortable. I immediately told him and others around him that I worked for him and everyone else in the day shelter. And that is how my first four years have gone. It is a remarkable journey to walk that of the servant leader.
I realize without all of you that none of this could occur. When we talk about RAMFAM, we mean it. Thanks to each of you reading this newsletter. RAM House is the little engine that could. We are the little engine that will. This little engine will just keep chugging along. We do so much to alleviate and prevent homelessness. Thank you, the reader, for your support and thank you for caring. May you all be blessed for being a part of our family.
