RAM House needs to expand its services to address the needs of our clients and help the city combat homelessness which is increasing daily. We need to have mental health care providers on-site to provide comprehensive case management and stabilize individuals for housing. In addition, we have plans to have showers, mobile medical access, substance-alcohol abuse peer groups, day labor programs, computer access, and increased office space. We have identified a building (410 Elm Ave.) for purchase and renovation to better serve our clients, with a contract signed for $715,000 and an estimated renovation cost of $3,000,000.

RADAR Bus Initiative
An anonymous donor has stepped forward to match every dollar given — up to $12,500 — to support transportation services coordinated by RAM House through the RADAR Bus system.
As part of its ongoing mission to provide hope by preventing and alleviating homelessness and hunger in the Blue Ridge Region, RAM House is leading a collaborative effort with Downtown Roanoke and the Rescue Mission to fund and coordinate transportation for individuals traveling to and from local shelters. This initiative removes one of the most significant barriers facing those experiencing homelessness: reliable access to services.
Through this program, RAM House is working to expand transportation access beyond shelter services to include mental health care, medical appointments, and other essential homeless service providers. By strengthening this connected system of care, RAM House is helping individuals move toward greater stability, improved physical and mental health, and long-term self-sufficiency.
This effort not only supports vulnerable community members but also contributes to a more coordinated and compassionate approach to reducing unsheltered foot traffic throughout downtown Roanoke.
